my story

kiara is an artist, adventurer, & human figuring out this life thing.

Instead of running around at recess like a normal child, Kiara would sing Disney medleys in three-part harmony and publicly rehearse groundbreaking original plays (The Weirdos of Oz was a fan favorite) with her friends. Besides maybe getting bullied a couple times on the playground, being an artist has relentlessly helped her overcome her fears, explore her identity, and become the lifeforce she is today.

Kiara has performed regionally at Clinton Area Showboat Theatre, Farmers Alley, Face Off Theatre, and Playhouse Square. From Rogers and Hammerstein lead to prostitute and alleged witch burned at the stake, Kiara finds home in complexity and range. She recently graduated with a BFA from Western Michigan University. Minoring in American Sign Language, Kiara recently wrote her honors thesis on the impact of an ASL shadow cast in the local community.

Both within and beyond the arts, she’s always wanted to do everything and she’s constantly discovering and rediscovering herself. From triple threat to photographer to director to poet to athlete to world-traveler, she does it all. She loves documenting life’s little moments through poetry and photography. Her notes app is full of brain fragments and her camera roll is full of love.

She is brazenly existential, optimistic, & authentic.
